New Services Expected to Improve Banff Pork Seminar Networking Opportunities

The chair of the Banff Pork Seminar Organizing Committee says new shuttle services being introduced to this year's seminar will make it easier for delegates to network.
The 2014 edition of the Banff Pork Seminar kicks off Tuesday afternoon at the Banff Centre and continues all day Wednesday and Thursday.
Don Down, the chair of the Banff Pork Seminar organizing committee, says the annual event typically attracts a wide cross section of representatives from swine production and processing, animal health and the financial sector.

Clip-Don Down-Banff Pork Seminar:
Each year we have about between 500 and 600 delegates that attend the Banff Pork Seminar and obviously the majority of those are made up from Canada but we do have increasing numbers from the United States and we also have attendees from Europe and also from Asia.
As an advisory committee we've worked hard to try and make it easy for people to attend the conference and we know there's three reasons why people come to the Banff Pork Seminar.
Number one is for the seminar of course, number two is for the networking and number three would be the location.
When it comes to the networking we do know that people like to move back and forth between Banff Centre and downtown Banff so a couple of things that we've done here is we've got an improved complimentary shuttle service for the delegates of Banff Pork Seminar between Banff Centre and downtown Banff and so there will be some information available on that.
Number two, our seminar would not be successful if it wasn't for our sponsors and one of the things we've added is, a lot of our sponsors do stay up at the Banff Centre, and we've added a complimentary taxi service for our sponsors to be able to travel between Banff Centre and downtown Banff.

Down notes the Banff Pork Seminar has been running for 43 years and has earned the reputation of being one of the top pork industry seminars in North America.
